I think it should be up to the couple! However I bet there is many who have had a few disagreements about and perhaps even called off a marriage over. To some this is very important .. and I think and I am not sure of this is it use to show owner ship even slaves would take on the owners last name. Me personally.. I love having my husbands last name... it is a honor because I love him. Any one else thoughts?
